Lithium Hydroxide
Application:
Lithium Hydroxide is used in all purpose grease for their ability to restructure after working at temperature above their drop point. Intermediates generator in organic synthesis catalyst in alkyd resin manufacture and esterification reactions, stabilizer in some photographic developers, and heat shrink material.
Key Performance Benefits :
Ensures high drop point in Lithium grease manufacturing and Lithium complex grease manufacturing.
Recommended Dosage :
Typical dosage range between 2% to 3 % for the all types of greases. The best treatment level for greases is left to the formulator and determined by experimentation by the user.
Typical Characteristics :
Physical state and appearance | Solid. (Hygroscopic powder.) |
Molecular Weight | 23.95 g/mole |
Color | White. |
pH (1% soln/water) | 14 [Basic.] |
Melting Point | 450°C (842°F) |
Vapor Pressure | Not applicable. |
Dispersion Properties | See solubility in water, methanol. |
Solubility | Soluble in cold water. Partially soluble in methanol. |
